Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SagaBard ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What the Service is

The Service is a companion app for tabletop campaigns: it helps you capture events, track sessions, and generate recaps. It is not a virtual tabletop and does not replace physical tabletop play. The core platform is offered free of charge; the Service does not currently process payments or collect billing information.

2. Your data

The Service stores your campaign data locally on your device. You may create an optional account to keep a copy of that data in the cloud and use it on more than one device. You remain responsible for exporting and safeguarding your own backups. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is collected and shared, and on what account deletion removes.

3. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for the activity under your account. Linking a device adds the data on that device to your account, so link only a device whose data you are entitled to add. You can delete your account at any time from a linked device. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

4. AI-generated content

The Service offers an optional feature that uses a third-party AI service provider to generate narrative recap text based on content you choose to submit. AI-generated text is provided "as is": it may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected, and you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it. This feature is optional and separate from the Service's local, non-AI recap option.

5. Third-party names and trademarks

The Service may reference the names of tabletop games and publishers for descriptive purposes, for example, to identify which games a Companion Pack supports. These names, trademarks, and logos are the property of their respective owners, and referencing them does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from the trademark owners. Where a Companion Pack for a specific commercial game is offered, it is an independent, unofficial fan work unless stated otherwise.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, for example, by attempting to disrupt it, accessing it through unauthorized means, or using it in a way that infringes the rights of others.

7. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data stored on your device or in your account's cloud copy.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
